New lingerie and swimwear brands are increasingly keen to cultivate an eco-friendly message: fabric selection, the creation process and even the way products are purchased are part and parcel of these new labels’ DNA.
Spotlight on the designers:
Established in 2017, Serpentina Bikini has undertaken to ensure that a tree will be planted in a deforested area of the rainforest for every bikini sold.
This new Brazilian brand offers mix & match bikini designs in shapes and prints that are inspired by nature and tailored to suit sporty and dynamic women.
The designer Ivana Vina Oro created her Savia de Oro brand entirely around eco-responsible principles. She selects natural materials and dyes for her garments, using substances such as plant sap, flowers and cochineal as natural dyestuffs.
Lingerie features minimal, streamlined designs, for wonderfully delicate and sensual garments.
Highly committed, Ivana is on an ongoing mission to track down new forms of sustainable production and work with local craftspeople.
The message on the Baelle website is clear: “Find your center, find your ethical self, find your authentic self”.
The brand celebrates ethics and authenticity as key values and uses natural and organic materials – such as bamboo, silk and cotton – to create lingerie and swimwear lines. Collections are designed for strong, active women, who strive to accomplish their goals.
This strong level of commitment can be felt throughout the industry and looks set to last!
